COUNTERACT DAILY STRESS, AID NERVOUS SYSTEM &
BRAIN - Men, Women and Children can benefit from supplementing their B Vitamin
intake. Studies have shown B Vitamin supplementation can help to counter
symptoms of deficiency including fatigue, anemia, loss of appetite, anxiety,
depression, abdominal pain, muscle cramps, hair loss, and eczema. Also
sometimes called Super B, Stress B Complex, or B-100, it can also be taken as
powder, tablets, pills, soft gel caps, or organic and vegan forms.
Vitamins B are often referred to only as B complexes. The effects of the various B vitamins are often overlapping and in many cases it is advisable to take them together for better recovery. However, a good word about some members of the B-complex, let's see them!
Thiamin (Vitamin B1)
Its main function is to support the functioning of enzymes involved in carbohydrate metabolism, and in addition to supporting the functioning of the nervous system, it is also useful in the adjunctive treatment of diabetic neuropathy and cardiomyopathy.
It contains the largest quantities of pork but may also be introduced with cereal grains or oilseeds.
Dosage: in heart disease 50-150mg daily, preferably in the form of vitamin B complex, in case of neuropathic symptoms the same dosage.
Thiamin is best absorbed in an acidic medium and should be taken with meals.
Good sources of thiamine include lean pork, whole grain cereals, beans and oilseeds.
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
Riboflavin plays an important role in a number of metabolic processes, in thyroid function, and in combination with iron increases the number of red blood cells. The body needs more when it comes to healing various injuries and burns, and it can be useful in preventing or delaying cataracts.
Larger amounts (200-400mg) can reduce the severity and frequency of migraine attacks and have been shown to be effective at lower or medium doses (25-50mg) in rosacea.
For the prevention of cataracts, the daily dose is 25mg and supplemental treatment is 50-100mg.
A typical deficiency symptom is a continuous or frequent crack in the mouth, and when accompanied by dry eyes, tears and increased sensitivity to light, riboflavin deficiency can be suspected.
A good source of riboflavin is milk, cheeses, yogurt, beef, liver, any fish, avocado and eggs.
Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5)
Pantothenic acid is good for protecting the nervous system, helping to improve the utilization of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, and helping with migraine, chronic fatigue and smoking cessation.
Although not a major problem with overdosing, the daily dose is better not to exceed 1000mg.
As a stress reliever, it is recommended to take 100mg of it daily, in the form of a B complex, worth the same amount of fatigue daily.
If you want to quit smoking, it is advisable to first reduce the amount of fibers you smoke daily (2-3 weeks) and then start taking pantothenic acid, 2x500mg daily. This technique makes it easier to release the cigarette permanently.
The main sources of pantothenic acid are fish, poultry, eggs (egg yolks), liver, yeast, broccoli, and yogurt and legumes.
Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6)
Vitamin B6 is one of the most important vitamins involved in red blood cell formation, protein synthesis and stimulation of excitatory substances, eg. in the synthesis of serotonin, it further helps to release stored energy.
It can be used to solve various problems. used in cardiovascular disorders, it is effective in relieving the symptoms of depression, insomnia, asthma attacks, premenstrual syndrome and treating tunnel syndrome.
Dosage here also depends on the problem, with premenstrual syndrome, the daily dose is between 50-100mg, but whatever we take, it is advisable to divide into two, one morning and one evening (it is better to take the evening just before bed).
For severe tunnel syndrome, 50mg is recommended at least twice a day and up to three times a day. In case of asthma 25-50mg twice a day is advisable, but be sure to consult your doctor first!
Taking certain amounts of vitamin B6 during pregnancy may be useful for women who have morning sickness or vomiting, but it is strongly recommended that you consult your doctor first. The recommended maximum daily amount can be safely taken, but there is no data on the effect of higher levels of vitamin B6 on fetal development.
When taken together with iron in anemia, it improves the formation of red blood cells in small amounts.
Vitamin B6 is best absorbed if you do not take more than 100mg a day, and this is the dose that can be safely taken over the long term.
If you do not want to buy pyridoxine in the form of tablets, you should eat fish, poultry, chickpeas, avocados, potatoes and bananas.
Biotin (Vitamin B7)
Nowadays, more and more people know about biotin as a good hair and nail enhancer, but fewer know that it can be just as useful in diabetes.
Explicit biotin deficiency occurs relatively rarely, as most of our diets contain enough biotin to cover our daily needs, but if our nails are weakened or our hairs are fragmented, increased intake of biotin should be considered.
The recommended daily amount for hair and nail strengthening is 1000mcg, in diabetes you may need to take larger amounts to increase the sensitivity of your cells to insulin, but be sure to consult your doctor!
It is found as a biotin in soybeans, legumes, liver, nuts, rice and barley.
